Honors Science for 9th and 10th grade is a step forward

I'm pleased to see that honors science will be offered in the 9th and 10th grades with the new curriculum. This is a step forward, particularly if most students are placed in the proper class (honors or regular). I'm convinced teachers will be able to cover much more subject matter in greater detail when they have students able to keep up with the faster pace in the honors classes. And in the regular classes, students won't have to worry as much about the teacher moving faster than they're able to learn. This is a good thing and I hope it happens.

COMMENT: Since honors students in science almost always take three or four years of science in high school, they'll be better off taking FULL-YEAR honors courses that will allow them to assimilate twice as much material than would be possible in just a semester course.
